Ordering

Placing an Order

Select your desired packaging (single or case packaging) and courier service (ambient, chilled or frozen courier) from the pull-down menu and enter your desired quantity. Then, click the "Add to Cart" button to add products to your Shopping Cart.
To continue shopping, click the "Continue Shopping" button until you have all the products you need.
* Please click here for courier services.
* Alcohol products are sold only to consumers of legal drinking age, which is over 20 years old in Japan. Please make sure that your purchase complies with Japanese law and regulations when ordering.

To view the products that are currently in your shopping cart, click the "Cart" icon at the upper right corner of your screen. Clicking the "Go To Cart" button redirects you to the shopping cart page where you can change your order.

Once you have confirmed your order in the "Shopping Cart" window, click the "Proceed to Checkout" button.

If you are already a member of the GALLEON Online Shop, please type in your email address and password, and then click the "Login" button.
If you wish to purchase as a guest without registering, please click the "Checkout as Guest" button, which will redirect you to the "Personal Information" page for filling your personal details.

* If you are already logged in, the log-in page will be skipped.

You can change your order details by clicking the "Change", "Add", or "Remove" buttons on each product.

Delivery Day/Time: You can select your desired day and time from the drop-down menu.
Payment Methods
You can select either credit card or cash on delivery (COD) to pay for your order.
* If your registered address is different from your delivery address, you cannot select the cash on delivery option.

* How to Redeem Coupons (only available for members)
Click the "Apply Coupon" button and enter a coupon code on the "Coupon Codes" page.
Once entered, click the "Submit Coupon" button to see how much discount you have received. Then, click the "Apply Discount" button to reflect the coupon amount.
Reward Points for Members Only
To redeem your reward points, click the "Redeem Points" button.
Order Notes
If you have any of the following requests, please leave us the details in the “Order Notes” section.
1) If you need a payment receipt, please refer to the "Payment Receipt and Delivery Note" for details.
2) If you wish to have your products gift wrapped with "Noshi" paper (Japanese ribbon pattern paper used for formal gift-giving), please let us know your preferred "Omotegaki" printing (type of gift) and your name in the Order Notes.
* For your information, there are various types of "Omotegaki" available, such as "Ochugen" (for summer gift-giving), "Oseibo" (for end-year gift-giving), etc.
Place your order.

Once you confirmed your order, check the Grand Total shown on the right of the screen.
If your order details and grand total are correct, read the Terms & Conditions carefully.
If you accept the terms, please check the "I Agree" box and then click on the "Pay by Credit Card" or "Place Order" button to submit your order.

Your order is completed.

Once you completed the above steps, your order will be processed.
Shortly after you have placed an order, an "Order Acknowledgement Email (with the subject line "Thank You For Your Order")" will be automatically sent to the email address you provided.
Upon confirming the stock availability, we will ship out your orders and send you a "Shipping Confirmation" email within 1 to 3 business days.
* Please note that additional costs and fees may be incurred and your total cost may vary if your ordered products are:
- shipped in multiple packages according to stock availability and product size, or
- shipped to Okinawa and certain remote islands.
If your delivery charge needs to be changed after you placed an order, we will send you a "Delivery Charge Changed" email (* Please note that, at this stage, your order is not yet processed.)
Your order will be processed after you have completed the process described in the "Delivery Charge Changed" email.
* Once the "Shipping Confirmation" email has been sent, or once you have replied to the "Delivery Charge Changed" email with your order confirmation (if applicable), we are unable to cancel, change, add, or combine your orders (packages).
Additionally, you are unable to:
- change shipping address, payment methods, delivery day and time,
- fill in the "Order Notes" section with anything important you need us to know, and
- use coupon codes and reward points.
Please check your order details carefully before you place an order.
* If you have blocked specific domains, please add our email domain, @galleon.shop, to your domain settings.

Stock Availability

We endeavor to ensure that we have sufficient stock availability, however some products may occasionally become out of stock or unavailable after you have placed an order.
Should this happen, we will back order the product and ship it as soon as it becomes available. Occasionally, we may have to cancel your order.

Product Shelf Life

  • We are committed to making sure that you only receive the products with adequate shelf life.
    If you require assistance in checking product shelf life, please inform us using the "Contact Us" form before placing an order.
  • If you order multiple quantity of the same product, the individual shelf life of each product may vary.

Gift Wrapping Service

We offer free and low-cost gift wrapping services (including free "Noshi" printing and wrapping).
If you choose to use our gift wrapping service, please click the "Gift Wrap" button and select your preferred wrapping type for each product on the Shopping Cart page.

  • Various types of wrapping materials are available for free gift wrapping, depending on product shape and size.
  • Some products may not be gift-wrapped with your selected wrapping material due to their size and shape, and in such a case we will wrap the product properly according to its shape and size.
  • We also offer a free of charge service to gift-wrap with "Noshi" paper (Japanese ribbon pattern paper used for formal gift-giving).
  • If you wish to have your products gift wrapped with "Noshi" paper, please select your preferred type of "Noshi" paper and "Omotegaki" printing from the pull-down menu.
    If you also wish to print your name on the "Noshi" paper, please type your name in the "Order Notes" on the "Order Review" page.
  • Gift boxes are also available at low cost. Please choose a gift box according to the size and type of products you purchase.
  • Extra time may be required for a gift wrapping service.
  • If you have purchased multiple products in a single shopping cart, we will wrap all of them together in one package.
  • If you need multiple products gift wrapped separately, please leave a message in the "Order Notes". You can also inform us by simply replying to the order acknowledgement email (with the subject line "Thank You For Your Order") sent after you placed an order.

Fraudulent Order Prevention

We may report to the police if any loss or damage is caused to us or third parties as a result of malicious activities such as:
- placing a "prank" order (i.e. orders that are undeliverable due to refusal of delivery or invalid contact information)
- placing a "spoof" order (i.e. orders that are placed using a fictitious name, address or telephone number)
- refusing to receive ordered and delivered products for personal reasons, and
- providing unidentifiable address.

Payment Methods

You can purchase from GALLEON Online Shop with the following payment methods.
* Once the "Shipping Confirmation" email has been sent, or once you have replied to the "Delivery Charge Changed" email with your order confirmation (if applicable), you may not make any changes to your payment method.

* We accept one time payment only. Installment payments are not available.
* All payments are automatically charged to your credit card in line with the terms and conditions defined by your credit card company.
* A receipt will not be issued for payment by credit card due to the architecture of the credit card processing system. For your payment transactions, please refer to your billing statement provided by your credit card company.
* Depending on your card usage status, you may be requested to use other payment method.
* For security reasons, you may be asked to verify your identity over the phone or by other means before your order is processed.
* Only the credit card owner may use the card. We will not accept third-party users.
* You can spend up to your credit card limit set by your credit card company.

Cash on Delivery (COD)

  • Please be sure that payment is prepared upon arrival of products.
  • If you are ordering multiple packages to be sent to the same address on the same day, you will be charged only one ¥324 processing fee.
  • You can make your payment using "e-Collect" service (cash on delivery service offered by Sagawa Express, which allows you to pay by cash, debit/credit card, etc.).
  • For details on "e-Collect" service, please access the website of "Sagawa Express".
  • For details on banks that issue debit cards, please access the website of "J-Debit Navi".

The cash on delivery service is not available in the following cases:

- When your registered address is different from your delivery address

Please note:

* Your payment receipt will be issued by a courier service company (i.e. Sagawa Express).
The name of the purchaser is printed on the purchase receipt and it cannot be changed.
* We do not replace a payment receipt for cash-on-delivery orders for any reason.
Please keep your payment receipt in a safe place since we are unable to replace it if it is lost.

Payment Receipt and Delivery Note

  • We generally do not issue a delivery note as we send you a "Shipping Confirmation" email as a substitute for a payment receipt and delivery note.
  • If you wish to receive a payment receipt, please leave us a message in the "Order Notes" on the "Order Review" page. In your message, please state that you wish to include a payment receipt with your package or that you wish to receive a payment receipt in PDF format.
  • We are unable to issue and replace a payment receipt for cash-on-delivery orders.

Delivery Services and Charges

Courier Services

  • GALLEON Online Shop offers a wide variety of food products such as ambient, summer-chilled, chilled, and frozen products. These food products will be delivered in suitable packaging according to their sensitivity to temperature. When you place an order for products that require different types of temperature control, each product is packed in a suitable temperature-controlled packaging, and delivered separately (Except some products).

* To ensure the highest possible quality of product, summer-chilled food will be delivered using Chilled Courier service during the summer months determined based on our shipping rules.
* Any ambient product that has "Combinable with Chilled Food" badge on its product detail page can be delivered together with Chilled products and Summer-chilled products.
If you wish to do so, please select "Chilled Courier" from the pull-down menu on the product detail page.

Courier Services

Placing an order for products that require different types of temperature control

When you place an order for products that require different types of temperature control, each product is packed in a suitable temperature-controlled packaging, and each package is delivered separately (Except some products). Please find the details below.

  • Delivering in a Single Package:
    All of your ordered products will be delivered in a single package, when you order an Ambient Food (which is “Combinable with Chilled Food”) together with a Chilled Food (or Summer-chilled Food ).
  • Delivering in Multiple Temperature-Controlled Packages:
    Your ordered products will be packed in a suitable temperature-controlled packaging and each package is delivered separately, when you order:
    - an Ambient Food together with a Frozen Food
    - a Chilled Food together with a Frozen Food
    - an Ambient Food (which is NOT “Combinable with Chilled Food”) together with a Chilled Food, and
    - any other applicable cases.

NOTES:

1) If you wish to combine an Ambient Product and Chilled Product (or Summer-chilled Product) in a single package, please select “Chilled Courier” from the pull-down menu when ordering the Ambient Product on its product detail page, and then click the "Add to Cart" button.
2) You can select either “Ambient Courier” or “Chilled Courier” from the pull-down menu on the product detail page, only when you order ambient product(s) which is “Combinable with Chilled Food”.
3) Due to product size, your ordered products can be packed separately in multiple packages, even when they meet the above requirements on single-package delivery. If your delivery charge is changed after you placed an order, we will send you a "Delivery Charge Changed" email. Please click here for more details on delivery charges.

  • The delivery charges detailed below will be applied to each individual package based on delivery area, types of temperature-controlled packaging, and your grand total.
  • In order to ensure product quality, any product that has "Summer-Chilled Food" badge on its product detail page will be delivered via chilled courier during the summer months determined based on our shipping rules.

Shipping Package Weights & Dimensions

* Each piece of package must meet the following requirements:
- The total length of three sides (width+length + height) is below 100 cm, and
- The maximum weight is 10kg.
* If you place an order by the case, each individual case is delivered on its own without packaging (Except some products.)

Delivery Services

Delivery Methods

  • Sagawa Express ("Hikyaku" Express Service) is our current exclusive carrier. We are unable to ship via other carriers.
  • Depending on stock availability and product size, your order may be split into two or more packages and your delivery charges may change after you placed an order. In such a case, we will send you a "Delivery Charge Changed" email (* Please note that, at this stage, your order is not yet processed.)
    Your order will be processed after you have completed the process described in the "Delivery Charge Changed" email.
  • In case your order contains several products which are delivered in different types of temperature controlled packaging (e.g. when you purchased both ambient product and frozen product at once), your packages will be delivered separately and may arrive on different days and/or times.

Delivery Day

  • We usually ship within 1-3 business days after receipt of your order.
  • Back orders will take roughly 1-2 weeks to be delivered.
  • Please allow an additional 1-2 business days for delivery if you have requested gift wrapping.
  • Some products may become out of stock or unavailable after you have placed an order. Should this happen, we will inform you by email as soon as possible and ship your back-ordered products immediately when they become available. Occasionally, we may have to cancel your order.

Delivery of your order may be delayed:

  • if your order contains products that are back ordered,
  • if your order or registration details are incorrect,
  • due to traffic conditions or any unexpected circumstances during delivery, and
  • if your order is placed during our closing days.

Once we ship your order, we will send you a "Shipping Confirmation" email to your registered email address.

Choice of Preferred Delivery Day and Time

  • If you wish to specify a delivery day, please choose your preferred delivery day in the "Delivery Details" section on the "Order Review" page.
  • You can specify a delivery day within the period of 3 weeks following one week after your order (not including the day you placed your order).
  • There are some products that you cannot specify a delivery date.
  • You can select AM (Morning) or PM (Afternoon) for your preferred delivery time.
    * Please note that we may not be able to deliver on your specified day and time due to some circumstances.
    * If you are a corporate customer, you cannot specify a delivery time zone (either AM or PM) due to operational reasons by our carrier, Sagawa Express (However, you are able to specify a delivery date to suit you). We ask for your kind understanding.
  • In case your order contains several products which are delivered in different types of temperature controlled packaging (e.g. when you purchased both ambient product and frozen product at once), your packages will be delivered separately and may arrive on different days and/or times even if you have specified a delivery day and time.

Delivery Area

  • Our delivery service is only within Japan. We do not ship packages internationally.
  • You can also collect your package from your local delivery office. If you wish to do so, please click on the "Change Address" button in the "Delivery Details" section on the "Order Review" page to enter postal code, address and name of your local delivery office along with the name and phone number of a person who collects packages.

Please note:

*If you have ordered multiple products and some are unavailable, we will wait until all products in the order are available before we ship them, as we do not make partial deliveries.
Should you wish to have the in-stock products delivered immediately, please inform us by replying to the "Order Acknowledgement" email (with the subject line "Thank You For Your Order") you receive when your order was placed. Please be aware that in this case, two separate delivery charges will be incurred.
* Your order will not be processed or shipped, if your order or registration details are incorrect. We may have to cancel your order if we cannot get in touch with you within three (3) business days from our first attempt to contact you.
* In case your order contains several products which are delivered in different types of temperature controlled packaging (e.g. when you purchased both ambient product and frozen product at once), your packages will be delivered separately and a delivery charge is applied to each courier package.
* Your package will be held for your collection at the local delivery office of Sagawa Express for seven (7) days after the first delivery attempt. If in the event your package has failed to be delivered due to a long absence from home or refusal to accept delivery, you will be billed for any additional delivery charges that we incur (including the costs incurred in attempting to deliver and returning the products).
If a product is returned to us undelivered, we will cancel your order. Unfortunately, as a general rule, we are unable to reship your package if it is returned to us.
On some occasions, we may have to decline to accept or process any further orders from you, if your package is undeliverable due to a long absence from home or refusal to accept delivery.
Additionally, we may cancel or refuse to process any further orders from you, if any malicious activity is confirmed in your order history.
* If you package is returned to us due to an incorrect address, additional delivery charges will apply (including the costs incurred in attempting to deliver and returning the product). When you place your order, please make sure your delivery address is complete and correct.

Return, Exchange and Cancellation Policy

Order Change and Cancellation Policy

Once the "Shipping Confirmation" email has been sent, or once you have replied to the "Delivery Charge Changed" email with your order confirmation (if applicable), a contract is formed between you and us in relation to the product(s) set out in the email. At this point, we are unable to cancel, change, add, or combine your orders (packages).
Additionally, you are unable to:
- change shipping address, payment methods, delivery day/time, and
- fill in the "Order Notes" section with anything important you need to let us know.
* If you wish to cancel or change your order, please inform us by replying to the "Order Acknowledgement" email (with the subject line "Thank You For Your Order") you receive when your order was placed.

Return and Exchange Policy

  • To ensure the safety and hygiene of our food products, as a general rule, we will not accept any return or exchange because of a personal preference.
    We only offer a return and exchange service in the event you receive a damaged, defective or incorrect product.
  • If you wish to return or exchange a product, please inform us before returning any products to us by replying to the "Order Acknowledgement" email (with the subject line "Thank You For Your Order") you receive when your order was placed within eight (8) days from the receipt of the product (including the day you received the product).

Delivery Charge for Return of Product

  • We will refund the delivery charge only if the products are damaged in delivery, faulty or incorrect.
  • The cost of return shipping is at the customer's expense if a product is being returned because of a personal preference.

Refund for Returned Products

  • Upon the receipt of your returned product, we will refund to your designated bank account.
  • If you paid by credit card, your total amount will be changed accordingly.

Please note:

  • You must inform us of your decision to return or exchange the products within the specified due date before returning them. (i.e. within eight (8) days from the receipt of the product, including the day you received the product). If you failed to do so, we will not be able to accept your return or exchange request.
  • Before returning a product, you must let us know by replying to the "Order Acknowledgement" email (with the subject line "Thank You For Your Order") or "Order Confirmation email" you receive when your order was placed.

"My Page" is a member-only page. Once logged in with your registered e-mail and password, you will be able to update your contact details and view your purchase history, list of your favorite products, etc.

- Contact Details: You can save and update your contact details.
- Delivery Address: You can handle (save, update or remove) multiple delivery addresses.

About Reward Points

Earning Reward Points

Once you become a GALLEON Online Shop member, you will be able to earn 1 point for every ¥100 (tax excluded) you spend.

Redeeming Reward Points

You can redeedm one (1) reward point for every ¥1 spent at GALLEON Online Shop.
Click here for instructions on how to use reward points when you place an order.

  • You can check your reward point balance and track your reward point history under "My Page" (Click here to log in to "My Page").
  • You can use reward points either fully or partially to pay the total amount of your order (including product costs, delivery charges and 8% consumption tax).
  • You can redeem a minimum of one (1) point and up to the total amount of your order (including product costs, delivery charges and 8% consumption tax) in any one checkout.
  • Reward points expire one year from the day of your last purchase.
  • Reward points are not earned on delivery charges, extra charges for cash-on-delivery service, and purchases made using reward points.
  • Canceled and returned purchases will result in a loss of any applicable reward points earned for the canceled and returned order.
  • Reward points are only available for online purchases made through the GALLEON Online Shop. They are not available in our retail stores.
